Granulators
Our range of cutting mills comprises everything from low-speed beside-the-press granulators to compact cutting mills (with or without soundproofing) to high-performance cutting mills for heavy-duty use. Thus, we offer customised solutions for almost all applications in the injection moulding, blow moulding, extrusion and recycling industries.
Cutting mills are used for shredding a diverse range of materials, such as plastics and wood. As they are suitable for a great number of shredding tasks, shredders and cutting mills are available in a correspondingly wide range of versions and sizes.
The combination of both new and used machines makes it possible for AMIS to offer a full range of cutting mills. All used machines undergo a thorough overhaul at our specialist workshop, whereupon they will be delivered with our tried and tested warranty for second-hand equipment.
We offer machines from renowned manufacturers, such as Alpine, Condux, Pallmann, Dreher, Herbold, Getecha, Wanner, Rapid, Zerma, etc.
Additionally, or alternatively, we are able to offer new Zerma machines. Zerma has a full range of machines for almost every application on offer.
It includes:
- Low-speed beside-the-press granulators with low rotor speeds (GSL series) for the injection moulding industry
- Compact cutting mills with and without soundproofing (GSC and GSE series) for the injection moulding and blow moulding industries
- High-performance cutting mills (GSH series) for heavy-duty industrial use and high throughputs at recycling companies
- Cutting mills for profiles, tubes and window sills (GSP series) produced in the extrusion industry
- Disc pulverisers (PM series) for pulverising virgin materials or regrind in profile, tube and sheet extrusion operations
Technical Data / Description
- Thanks to the V-arrangement of the rotor knives, the material is kept at the rotor centre, which reduces the wear on the grinding chamber walls to a significant extent
- Even after the rotor knives have been re-sharpened, there is no need for adjusting the cutting gap as the rotor’s turning cycle remains unchanged (GSL series)
- Easy adjustment of the rotor knives and stator blades outside the machine using a setting gauge
- Robust bearing separated from the grinding chamber
- Thanks to the diagonally separated grinding chamber, it is easy to access the rotor and the grinding chamber for maintenance and cleaning work
- Grinding chamber made of a stable welded steel construction
- Universal use thanks to operating modes with 2 or 3 stator blades
- Featuring two edges, the stator blades are reversible
- Depending on the application, there are different rotor versions available; from closed rotors for massive, compact parts to open, aggressive rotors for large-volume parts
- High operational safety according to the applicable EC Machinery Directives
Our cutting mills are available with a wide range of options, such as extraction systems, conveyor belts, metal detectors/separators, overbelt magnets, fine material separators, etc. It goes without saying that we also deliver the matching accessories and spare parts for every machine.
Mode of Operation
Passing through a hopper, the material is fed into the cutting mill’s grinding chamber. The rotor located there is equipped with cutting blades. The rotating knives and the stator blades located in the grinding chamber housing shred the material until it is turned into defined regranulate that falls through the screen underneath the rotor. After that, it is usually a pneumatic conveyor that transports the regrind into big bags, silos or other containers.
