Single shaft shredders
Our new and used high-quality single shaft shredders serve to chop different materials (such as plastic, wood, paper, or biomass) into smaller particles. The reduced particle sizes make it easier for the materials to be transported, treated, or recycled.
Single-shaft shredders are used for a wide range of shredding applications involving different materials, such as plastic, wood, paper, textiles etc. They are often used for coarse shredding operations upstream of cutting mills.
Thanks to the perfect coordination of all machines and plant components, it is possible to fulfil almost all customer requirements.

Our range of used machines includes single-shaft shredders as well as two and four-shaft shredders from renowned manufacturers, such as Weima, Zeno, Wagner, Untha, Lindner, Zerma, etc.
Our range of new Zerma machines comprises numerous series designed for different customer-specific requirements:
- ZBS series: compact single-shaft shredders without hydraulic pusher for small lumps or rejects from the injection moulding, extrusion and blow moulding industries
- ZSS / ZPS series: universal single-shaft shredders for applications from the recycling, injection moulding, extrusion and blow moulding industries
- ZWS series: single-shaft shredders for shredding wood and lightweight plastic waste

Mode of Operation
The material to be shredded is fed in through the hopper. After that, the hydraulic pusher conveys the material to the rotor where it is shredded between the rotor knives and the stator blades. The drive motor’s current consumption controls the hydraulic pusher dependent on the load. The final grain size is determined by both the dimensions of the rotor knife itself and the screen underneath the rotor. A conveyor belt, a discharge screw conveyor or an extraction system are available as optional removal systems.
